# Introduction

> Kallax.io is a free board game platform to organize your collection, connect with friends and plan game nights. Built by enthusiasts, for enthusiasts.

**Board games are better with friends.** Kallax.io brings your collections together, helps you find the perfect game for the table and makes it easy to plan the next game night.

Kallax.io is built and run by a small group of friends: professional software developers who share a love of board games. Our mission is simple: get more people playing board games together.

## Collect

Import your games from BoardGameGeek, paste a list of titles, scan the barcodes on your shelf or add games one by one. Sort them into folders and keep track of details such as the language of each copy. You can export or delete your collection whenever you want.

## Connect

Add friends and search their shelves as if they were an extension of your own. Find a game that is easy to learn and takes around 30 minutes, or a three-player game without dice that someone at the table owns. You can also share a search link with friends and family so they can browse your collection, no account required.

## Play

Host game nights and let everyone vote on when to meet and what to play, and coordinate who brings which games. Keep it private for friends and family, or arrange open meetups and find events near you. Guests can say they are coming with a one-click guest account.

## Frequently asked questions

  <Accordion title="Is Kallax.io free to use?">
    Yes. The *Hobbyist* tier will always be free. For cafés, event organizers and anyone who wants to support the platform, the *Enthusiast* tier adds some extra features. It is a flexible, pay-what-you-want subscription that keeps the site ad-free.

  <Accordion title="Do I need an account?">
    Not to look around. You can search games, browse communities and find events without one. You need an account or a guest account to manage a collection and take part in events.

  <Accordion title="What is a guest account?">
    A temporary account that does not need a login. Guest accounts may be deleted after 30 days of inactivity and can not be recovered if you log out or clear your browser data. Set a password at any time to turn it into a regular account.

  <Accordion title="Is there an app for Android or iOS?">
    You can install Kallax.io on your phone as a web app with **Install App**. It is not in the App Store or Play Store yet.

  <Accordion title="Can I delete my account and data?">
    Yes, at any time from **Settings**. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Some data may remain in backups or logs for up to 30 days.

  <Accordion title="Are there ads?">
    No. There are no ads, no sponsored content, no affiliate links and no tracking, and we do not sell your data. Kallax.io is funded by *Enthusiast* users and donations.
